Does it include both the start and end day?

The tool computes the net difference (nights/days between the two dates). If you need to count both endpoints, add one day to the result.

Why are months approximate?

Because months vary from 28 to 31 days. We use an average of 30 days per month for a quick estimate, while the day count is exact.
